Review copy from NetGalley.

This was a delightful listen, narrated by Julia Winwood who does a great job bringing the characters to life.

The prose is nicely written and Moorcroft knows how to do a steamy but tasteful love scene.
Nico is a great male lead character, I was rooting for him the whole time. Hannah comes off a bit flat at times but I enjoyed the way she dealt with conflict in her professional life. The kids managed to be cute and not annoying. I was pleasantly surprised to see a fluffy book like this deals with interesting issues like male eating disorders and single dads taking on more responsiblity. It also deals with addiction issues sensitively but fairly.

I'll be seeking out more from Moorcroft.

You can't beat Sue Moorcroft at Christmas, can you?

I loved this story, the emotion and the hope and the way it felt so uplifting. I love it when stories explore themes of friendship.

Something about this book and the story felt very picturesque and quaint in a way. It was a delight to read.

I listened along to the audiobook, narrated by Julia Winwood, as I read this book. The narrator does an excellent job bringing the characters to life and I would definitely listen to more of their books.

A charming festive novel, that’ll leave you feeling warm and cosy on a winter’s night.

I was slightly disappointed that it took quite so long to get into the Christmas element of the book, much of it focused on the difficulties of Nico and his ex. Some of the romance between Hannah and Nico did feel rather rushed, but it was sweet.

Christmas wishes by Sue Moorcroft is a story set in winter in both Middledip England and Sweden. It follows the stories of Hannah and Nico, old school friends who bumped into each other again as adults in Sweden and start to fall in love over the winter.

The story was not at all what I was expecting which was a cheesy love story, who doesn't love them? But oh was I wrong! It is a story which discusses so many difficult stories, alcohol addiction, single father, child neglect and a god awful boyfriend! Do we all hate Albin? I know I do!
Despite all of these life problems getting in the way there is a lovely story of Hannah and Nico and of course their love for little Maria (hands down she's the best character)

I rated this book 3.5 stars only because I felt some of the stories didn't bring anything to the book as a whole but overall I enjoyed it.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! This book will go on sale on October 29!

Hannah and Nico knew each other as teenagers when Nico and Hannah’s brother, Robert were on an ice hockey team together. The two find themselves reunited but at the wrong time- Hannah is in a relationship and Nico has his own drama with his ex-wife. However, fate keeps bringing them together when Hannah finds herself back in her hometown at the same time Nico has moved there.

I really enjoyed this story, it felt like a traditional Christmas story but also felt fresh and new as it dealt with a lot of heavier topics (eating disorders, post-natal depression, alcoholism, etc.). I really enjoyed the author’s writing style and descriptions- it made me want to snuggle up by the fire with some hot chocolate to read it!

I do wish we had seen a little more of Nico’s relationship with his brother and parents but I really loved seeing his interactions with his daughter and her half-sister, as well as his relationships with Hannah and her family.

Overall, I think this is a great holiday great and would definitely recommend it!
