When I started this book I thought I was going to end up bored with it, but I must sing the praises of Walls. I think that women could describe paint drying and make it a pleasure to read. It wasn't that her main character wasn't interesting--she's all that. It's just that you basically go through her life (I did this then I decided to go there) and yet it is enjoyable. Not in anyway as riveting as Glass Castle, but it is fun to watch Rosemary (the daughter in this book, the mother in that one) grow up--knowing her future.

Kinda skimmed through this one...I didn't get into it at all and once book club had come and gone, I figured I would never get back to it and I had a little time to kill. The life described was interesting but I felt very removed from all of the characters in the book and after a very strong first chapter, I got progressively less interested in continuing.

A really nice companion to the Glass Castle with the same great quality of writing and unique voice.
