A reread of one of my favorite childhood books! A series of snapshot adventures between two city slicker sibs and their intimidating behemoth of a grandma during summer visits. Richard paints a wonderful sense of place not too far from where I live now. Behind the cast of silly country folk making drama out of the simple things is a subtle, loving relationship between kin. I cried during the epilogue thinking of my own grandparents.
