A decent installment, but one that also seems to have lost a majority of the plot from the first book in favor of romantic drama and the obligatory love triangle that seems to be stable of young adult fare. Though I am firmly #teamjem, if we can't have a decent throuple, I wish more time had been devoted to the whole "evil automatron army threatening to take over in London," thing or uncovering Tessa's origin story.

I'm too tired to write any kind of review.

first read: 9. - 13.1.2012.
second read: 12. - 14.1.2013.

It's the characters that make this series one of my favorites. Their stories and their truths are beautiful and impossible to forget. They all love each other so much. Love triangle or no love triangle this series is as much about Jem and Will's friendship and Tessa's journey as it is about who ends up with whom. Will Herondale really proves himself in this book and it was even more clear the second time through just how much he loves both Tessa and Jem. Jem is just as deserving of Tessa's love as Will is though and it makes things hard for both her and the readers. Even though Will will always be my personal favorite for Tessa (and myself haha). I see why she would struggle so much with the choices she is forced to make in Clockwork Prince. The side characters are so amazing its impossible not to love them all almost as much as the main three. While Mortmain is not my favorite of Cassandra Claire's villains he is very much a Victorian bad guy and it fits the story so well. Everything about this book is perfection.

4.5 stars. Omggg this was emotional for me. I really don't know if i want Tessa to be with Will or Jem. I love both of them! Really looking forward to be reading clockwork princess, even though i have heard it is even more emotional....
