This one really has me on the fence. I enjoyed the characters, found them really likable, but I just didn’t connect with them.  A lot of what went on in this book felt surface level; very quick and rushed—almost insta-lovey once the one MC realizes his best friend has feelings for him.

August and Noah have been the best of friends since Noah moved in across the street from August’s family at a young age. They were inseparable, so much so that they run a law firm together. August was hilarious, and so oblivious, as the title states! The obliviousness aspect was written well, but there were times when it made August just come off as dense. Noah is the more serious of the two, more reserved, doesn’t live life on the edge like August. That being said I became enamored with the way August pulls Noah outside of his comfort zone—we all need a friend like that!

Their entire story ultimately comes from an ill-timed lie/miscommunication back in high school. They attempted to fool around back then but it just didn’t work out how they wanted. The friend group in this story is fun and their meddling was adorable! This book was just missing something for me; I can’t nail it down what it was, but I just struggled with connecting to these two, and that made it difficult to enjoy their banter and blatant obliviousness at times!

Cute! I worried that I would be bored since the whole plot is right there in the description, but it was a pleasant ride. Friends to lovers is a weakness of mine that surprises me every time I read it. Also, can I just say that I adore August's family?

Enjoyable enough, August’s feelings went from zero to 100 in a split second which was a bit much for me but all’s well that ends well. Looking forward to Shelby’s book ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the extreme version of someone, or really two people, so oblivious to the circumstances, that it borders on frustrating. Noah and August have been best friends since Noah moved in next door to August and his family. Noah has been crushing on August, but since an awkward kiss shared as teenagers, they believe they have no chemistry. But everything about the two of them scream couple, although they can't see it. By the end, I started to warm up to the two men, but it took a leap to get there.

Knowing these two idiots were gonna end up together for 2 books and then finally figured it out was so freaking good. I love that their friendship was so intimate from the beginning and how sweet August was once he finally pulled his head out of the sand.

This book should have finished like 40%. The plot basically didn’t exist. I always say I want to see more of the couple being happy, so maybe I should have tried to enjoy this more and slowed down. But honestly I read the last 50% pretty fast because it felt like not much was happening.

I loved this book! Two otherwise smart men whose view of each other was tempered by their pasts, finally coming together - each oblivious in their own way. It's a slow build to their eventual HEA, but what they find out about each other in learning to communicate as more than best friends is beautiful and priceless.

This is one of those feel good reads where everyone knows exactly what will happen, they just don't know when... and that inevitably makes it a great book!
