Thank you so much Marissa Meyer for writing 824 pages of pure, utter happiness. I will never forget the beloved characters you've created. Can't wait for the movie installments of your epic series! :)

man... this was a rollercoaster.
i'm ngl, i do think this book could've been shortened down quite a lot because it felt like the last 20% was slightly rushed. i appreciate that Meyer basically gave us
happy endings and like an ending for all the relationships bc OBVIOUSLY we all wanted that
but I felt like I could've gone away with like the extra bits🥲 I kind of got bored after the 60% mark? and it didn't pick up again until the 80% mark. Also like Miss Meyer please, the amount of heartbreak I went through this entire book omg.

Anyways, still a fantastic way to conclude the series and maybe just one day I'll feel for Levana and read her story........... (also now i truly know why this series is considered one of the OG's of YA Fantasy)

This book was such an undertaking - each book in the series seems to get bigger as it goes and more characters are introduced. This book felt like the fireworks finale that it should be with #allthefeels all over the place. Every moment you were waiting for finally happens and Meyer only tries to break your heart eleventy billion times so it's all good. I've already got Stars Above waiting for me to crack into.

At first I was thinking I didn't really like the fact the ending was really convenient for all the characters. Then I started to think of the initial inspiration for the entire series. The ending of this series is the way it is for fairy tales. I also like that the book is over 800 pages but it never felt that long. There didn't seem to be a bunch of things happening that didn't matter, which happens a lot in big books. I would love to have seen more about Levana's reasoning for what she was doing but I know she has her own book.

TL;DR: Two books in one, we highlight the relationship between a couple and then a revolution. The conclusion is good, just too long.
