Fable of happiness book 1 by pepper winters is the beginning of another soul shattering dark romance.
Pepper Winters has been my top fav author from the moment i fell down the rabbit hole of this genre
of romance and her latest work is a proof that she captures the dark romance in her penmanship
beautifully.
Book 1 introduces us to Gemma Ashford and Kas, a very unconventional and unique circumstance brings them face to face, their chemistry and the suspense was so high, all the time i was hooked to each word on the page.
This book, was highly anticipated read of mine; after those suspenseful teasers and claims to parael Q Mercer and Jethro Hawke, I was impatient and nervous to read about Kas, but the anticipation was the worth it, because Kas has seriously digged his way into my heart with his fierceness and intense
ways.
The plot is well paced and the suspense around the characters is balanced out evenly with the story giving us enough answers to
grasp but not showing us the whole picture, keeping us in hooked and engaged.
The chemistry between Gemma and Kass is electrifying and you can't but help feel the tension, the
emotions, the shattering and the chaos that ensures around them.
This we written suspenseful dark romance ends in a cliffhanger which has definitely put me in a
hungover state for more of Gemma and Kas.
So I don’t mind books in series but this is one time where I wish the whole book was in one lol I got to the end of book 2 and needed book 3 right away. I love Gemma!!! Pepper leaves you wanting more for sure!!
Fable of Happiness is the first book in the Fable series. This book is told from dual points of view by Gemma and Kassen.
Gemma is an avid climber and is always looking for new adventures for her youtube channel. When she finds a new one she heads out by herself without telling anyone. She gets there and the place is deserted. She finds this house and goes inside to snoop around. There she meets Kassen. He is naked and not happy to see her.
He ends up keeping her hostage and not letting her go. Gemma will do whatever she can to get away from Kassen but realizes something bad happened to him in the past.
There is so much push and pull between these characters. Kassen doesn't know how to be around other people, and now thinks he owns Gemma. This book ends up with something happening. Can Gemma get away from Kassen? Or will she be stuck with him forever? Will she decide to leave him? Or will she decide to stay?

I could just not stop reading this book and devoured it in a single day! Fable of Happiness is Pepper Winters at her best! With passionate and intense chemistry, Kassen and Gemma have quickly become a favorite couple of mine. In true Pepper fashion, she left us with one heck of a cliffhanger! I cannot wait for book two!
How does one even move on from this cliffhanger?
Pepper Winters never fails to make me want to pull out my hair. There is always so much raw emotion in her books and her broken characters. She has a gift. I'm not entirely sure how I'll survive the next eight stories of the fable kids. Fable of Happiness, itself, is a trilogy. This one is only the first book and I'm already banging my head on the wall.

Hmmm. I definitely need to see where the rest of this series is going to go before I jump to any conclusions or feelings on this book.

Pepper Winters really knows how to write a dark and heartbreaking story!
This book introduces us to Kassen - our anti-hero - and Gemma - our heroine - both characters that are flawed, hurt and broken in different ways.
Kassen is such a complex character who has gone through so much hurt and pain in his life and when he meets Gemma, he mistreats her. His reasonings are very much justified in my eyes. His feelings and emotions were so raw, especially the flashbacks he experienced. This man is traumatised and broken but there is humanity and compassion found in him.
Gemma is broken and lonely, feeling adrift with her personal life. She has a career in climbing, showing her adventures on social media. She is a thrill seeker always on the lookout for her next big adventure. Gemma is a strong heroine, yet vulnerable at the same time. This is something I love about Pepper Winters writing, her heroines are strong, bold and vulnerable. Always the perfect balance for their man.
Kassen and Gemma are intense together, their story is so amazing and so worth the read because this book will blow your mind and break you at the same time.
Also, this book ends in a huge cliffhanger and I am seriously dying until the release of book 2!
