This book is my third favorite. This is the year Harry has to fight the Dark Lord, as well as his Death Eaters, after Harry’s friend was killed the year before. We see Harry go into a sort of depression in the beginning, growing further away from his friends, and even Dumbledore. Through the power of friendship and love, we see Harry’s friends by his side, even though he thought it wasn’t their fight. I’d say the friendship and love shown in this book is the most powerful. It is the longest book and has the most information that really carries the story along.

The movie version of this book is pretty good. It leaves out a lot but the parts they chose to cut, didn’t leave you wondering like in the Goblet of Fire; instead, they kept most of the important bits that you need to know to have the plot make sense, and Daniel Radcliffe did a great job portraying Harry’s emotions. In the begining he’s very much alone as nobody believes Voldemort is back, and we see him getting happier, and more confident in his friends as the story continues, which to me, was the most important part of the book.

Favorite Quotes:
“One person couldn’t feel all that” “just because you’ve got the emotional range of a teaspoon!” - Ron and Hermione (movie)
“Give her hell for us, Peeves!” - Fred Weasley (book)
“We’ve all got both light and dark inside of us. What matters is the part you coose to act on.” - Sirius Black (movie)

My blood was bowling. So many frustrations. I actually felt like a teenager again. What they went through is relatable, not the killing ofcs. Love, rebellion, fear, stress, grief, etc

I cried when our good dog was killed.

I was frustrated. I felt it all.

I was glad finally at the end of the book we received some form of closure. We needed it so badly.

Another happy part is how the twins stayed true to themselves. I finally understood and saw how important they are and how much I love them.

I don't believe I will ever hate a character as much as I did that pink evil twat.

The adults frustrated me yet I could understand them and agreed they were mostly right.

So many things could be avoided with better communication.

Also...that prophecy...how horrible..
It could have been Marcel Lubbermans. Marcel is such a wonderul and growing character in the books.

Lastly I love how the order of the phoenix stood up for Harry against the Duffelingen. Finally someone speaks up.

Ahhh!!! Love this one so much! Reading Harry Potter as an adult gives you a different perspective than the one from childhood. I found this installment profoundly deep and thought provoking.  Despite the dark turn that this series has taken, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!
