I read this for my Hispanic Literature class, it was an entertaining story but like all plays (especially before the 19th century) it was super confusing due to the long monologues and asides that characters would go on. I really did love the characters and the plot as I genuinely did not know what would happen next. There was also a lot of irony that I appreciated, especially in the names of characters, along with the commentary on how monarchies are ruled.

Absolutamente enamorada del teatro calderoniano y de los soliloquios de esta obra. Un poco friki sí que soy porque me aprendí varios de memoria.
Siempre es un placer volver a leer esta obra maestra, especialmente cuando tengo la oportunidad de introducirla a una nueva generación de estudiantes.
