This is the weirdest book i’ve ever read. With that said, this read had an existential feel that had me examining deeper contexts. This is probably due to the bizarre circumstances of this post apocalyptic world and the detailed relationship and reliance on watermelons.

this bitch won't leave my mind even though it's been 1,5 years since i read it... it's very special, the hippie-era surrealist prose-poetry... there's nothing quite like it.

Maybe it’s me and I’m not hip enough or intellectual enough but I just don’t get this at all.  I understand the story (insofar as anyone can) and it’s certainly creative and original…I just don’t GET it.  It’s like a weird acid/ecstasy trip that turns bad.

It was definitely a collection of weird stories but all about the same people. It’s not necessarily something I would recommend to someone but I wouldn’t say it was a bad read. It’s a book I was able to have on in the background as I was working and I could tune in and out of it and be fine.
