A serviceable true crime narrative that, for reasons I am unable to pin down, left me a bit unsatisfied. The writing was off for me - I don't need ellipses in my true crime story and I really don't like quotes around slang (if you can't get the meaning across for the reader with context clues, leave it out) - so it all sort of plods along. An editor with a ruthless red marker would have helped.
