I'm sorry, Simone. As much as I like her philosophical treatises, I can't really get into her fictional or semi-autobiographical prose. Some of the observations are so artificial and/or clumsy that it's almost painful to read (she puts her violin in its tiny coffin... really?). Please, could you stop trying so hard? The deep emotions behind these strange sentences do not really shine through. But there could be so much to think about. At least one thought remains after reading this book: the moment you tell someone how obsessed and in love you are, some of it just goes away. How sad.
