I read this book a while ago and love the little tidbits of information. It was well written and funny as well as informational.

I admit I was a bit embarrassed buying this, but it's actually well written. He's got good advice regardless of your size/shape. I even stopped myself from buying a shirt this week that was ON SALE because I knew the shape wouldn't flatter my figure.

This is an entertaining if not deep look at achieving style. It's not the best guide to assembling a wardrobe that I've ever seen (that's the Lucky Manual), but his section on closet-clearing is useful. And it's full of wonderful and witty asides and erudite references:

"Soren Kierkegaard (1813-1855), Danish philosopher, opera lover, and the man Ludwig Wittgenstein called "the most profound thinker of the nineteenth century" can actually be a huge help when it comes to curing one's closet. The author of Fear and Trembling will not tell you explicitly to toss out those clam diggers, but he will supply two enormously helpful ideas."

More interesting and insightful than I expected - who would expect to find Roland Barthes and Kierkegaard referenced in a style guide?

An interesting and frank look at fashion, but not earth shattering. The fashion wardrobe list is aimed at women living in a big city, but that is what he knows. And millions of women will benifit from that advice.

Loved the mostly body-positive vibe throughout but this is clearly meant for folks more interested (read: obsessed with) fashion. At least in my view. Loved Tim's style though; felt like I was almost having a chat with him.
