My eyes are being opened to the wild and wonderful world of mycelium. I am reading this book concurrent to working on mushroom identification skills, and participating in the montreal mycological society. This book really doesnt have much info about identifying mushrooms in the wild. It is more of a bible for mycophiles...more to come

I consider Paul Stamets to be an engaging speaker and a fun writer in small doses, like on social media. Unfortunately, I found this book capital-D-Dull. By the end I was reading only the introduction of each chapter and then skimming the rest for cool pictures. A good choice for farmers, foresters, pollution control experts, and other professionals looking to add mycotechnology to their work; not so good for the lay reader who just wants to learn Stuff About Fungi.

Will pick up again at some point, but was starting to get overwhelmed by my pile of to-reads. The part I did read was interesting.

This book will blow your mind!!!

I heard Paul Stamets speak a few nights ago and believe that his ideas can be truly revolutionary. Totally rad and perfect inspiration as I'm getting ready for gardening season.

A LOT of information on mushrooms from the mushroom expert. It gets a little technical at times but still a good read.
