Ok I wasn't 100% sure on this one at first but now I can say I thoroughly enjoyed it!

It started off strong and then felt meh at times. But by the 60% mark, it really picked up. I did figure out the twist but this is more of a physiological horror book, not a thriller.

I'm leaving this a non spoiler review, which I prefer to do for horror and thrillers. Spoilers really ruin the purpose and twists for those books, in my opinion.

I'm curious to see the movie in a couple months, I see how they play out the book. I can honestly picture this well on the big screen, and I'm glad they got Dakota Fanning to play Mina!

Ugh. This book was a slog considering it's so short. The premise of being stuck in the woods and surrounded by creepy creatures was intriguing but it soon wore thin for me.

I still wanted to know what was going on so I persevered and that twist has to be the worst thing I've read in ages. It just made absolutely zero logical sense and the ending was like some desperate need to claw back the fear that evaporated from the story.

It just felt very pointless and unfleshed out. Really really did not enjoy this. Wish I had dnf'd. The amount of filler in these pages is ridiculous. It definitely could've been cut drastically.

I read this in anticipation of the movie being released later this year and I was not disappointed.
Absolutely gripping story! Even if you think you guessed the ending, no you didn’t. That last sentence?! I’m amazed.
