This was a powerful and fresh take on Asian American stereotypes, especially in film and TV. I enjoyed the screenplay format for the most part but was sometimes lost between what was actually happening and the hypothetical scenes.

This book is so good. The way that Yu combines the style of traditional knowledge and a screenplay really allows the reader to think more abstractly about the story and apply it to real life.

Really enjoyed this - 4.5 stars. Clever, funny, but with strong insights on race & history. The unusual form worked for me & it was a quick read.
