Everything Julie Flett illustrates is a work of beauty, and kiddo loves the art just as much as we do. I also enjoyed learning about the structure of Cree language for colours, and practicing reading aloud using the pronunciation guide.

I am a fan of anything by Julie Flett. There is something about her use of colour that seems to calm my rambunctious granddaughter down when we read them. (well for a few pages anyway)

A super simple board book that teaches children Cree with beautiful illustrations by Julie Flett.
Her illustrations are beautiful. What I love is their simplicity -- you can so easily tell what's a moose, what's a bluejay, what's a hare. I think this is really important in children's books, and I can tell she's put so much thought and work into the illustrations. They have a softness and a whimsy that I just love.
Hoping to include this in a YouTube video on my channel very soon!
