This would definitely be a book before going to bed, but if you have a child with an active imagination I would just read during the day. It has a lot going on, which is fun, but overall I felt like it was reenergizing me since everything was "making noise". Still a fun read!

3.5 stars.

A young mouse has trouble falling asleep due to all the nighttime sounds. Not sure why it repeats three times until he bellows "Be quiet..."
funny mysterious fast-paced

Clever, but honestly not the best 'going to bed book' because the noises get louder. Good for little ones who get scared at night when it's 'too quiet' for them. There are always noises.

Kids will enjoy the fun repetition in this bedtime story.

Fucile's illustrations are adorable. I loved Rinker's use of onomatopoeia.

sounds, high contrast, repetition, summer nights, frogs

Humorous good night book that would pair well with Good Night Owl by Greg Pizzoli or Too Much Noise by Ann McGovern

Reviewed from a library copy.

Good for young children as lot of repetition.
