Have been putting off reading this for two years because tbh I didn’t want to deal with all the emotion and rage that I knew would come with it. Don’t feel good, nothing has changed. Amazing writing, though the stuff that was added from the play is kinda just filler (though filler I appreciated)

This is such a powerful book. As a legally educated woman, I anticipated I would love this. It is gripping, thought-provoking and all consuming.
Tessa’s monologue is important and poignant in expressing the injustices of the criminal justice system. The issues women face in a white, heterosexual, male driven profession, and problems such as victim blaming and social class etc. was articulated well. It is an enraging, but vital read.
Highly recommend listening to the audiobook to hear Jodie narrate this. Gutted I missed the stage version, would sell my soul to see Jodie perform this live.
