A bit slow but a lighthearted and sweet story. The characters were lovable, the plot unique, and it gave a classic witchy story a nice spin.

I have to say, the romance part made my heart flutter so much, I couldn't stop giggling. Then, when the secrets came out one by one, I was so shocked. I was so surprised by the plot twists, I didn't expect it at all. The ending in my opinion was so typical but still so perfect.

I honestly enjoy every second of it. It was such a warm, cozy, romantic book about magic and family, with a touch of love and human connections.

I did not expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. The beginning was a bit slow as you learn about Mika and start to understand her way of thinking, but once everything got going, I could not put this book down. I loved the recurring themes
kindness,  belonging, love, trust, & family - and how Mika worked on creating a foundation of all of these things with each member of Nowhere House
. The ending felt a tad rushed to me, however, that could’ve also been because I didn’t want to story to end. I loved the world the author created and am glad to have met all the quirky, loving characters of the Very Secret Society or Irregular witches.

A wonderfully cozy book, the prose is light and funny, and the characters are a very loveable cast. A tale of finding your own belonging and family in the face of loneliness.

What a wonderfully witchy book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this right to the very last page. I personally found all the characters to be very loveable (some of them not so much at first, but they grew on me over time). Thematically, the book shows how important having connections and a sense of belonging is to overall wellbeing. Plotwise, there were some very surprising and unexpected twists and turns which made the story even more interesting. Overall a very heartwarming and cozy read, would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves reading about found family and magic!

I loved the relationships formed in this book and that magic took more of an "every day" role than one usually sees in fantasy books. I also love that the development of relationships in this book was realistic. It didn't happen all at once and the interruptions to advancements were rooted in the characters' arcs rather than nonsense reasonings like "someone burst into the room and they never went back to their conversation" or whatever.

Also, I love that characters talked through their problems instead of just apologizing and moving on or deciding that "it didn't matter if they'd been hurt." There were real consequences to behaviors, words, and beliefs. And the characters had to face the consequences to move forward.
