Let's start off by saying could this cover be any prettier! Honestly, the covers on this series are amazing. Also amazing is the story within! Wow-what a ride we were taken on in this one. I think I literally said that in my review for book 1, but it still holds true. There are so many huge reveals in this book that you're on the edge of your seat the whole time.

Book 1 cliff was brutal with the party basically all split up, Mania turned human after breaking her true love's heart and being thrown out into the normal world. Mania then does everything in her power to get back to Afterlife Asylum and/or wherever she can get to save Hoax and Pyro. This def doesn't go as planned and she runs into the jerk face that is Ghost. I will say it's taken me a while to come around to Ghost, but Maddison does do that in this book but makes him work for it.

There's soo much relationship and world-building that has gone into this one. What I love about it is that book two enhances everything that's been laid out already and then cranks the dial up to 11.

I don't want to give away too much, but this book is like a fatalistic mute version of squid games, maze runner and hunger games but darker and sexier.

Kings of Madness by Maddison Cole is a dark paranormal reverse harem romance. This is the second book in All My Pretty Psychos trilogy.

The book comes with a Trigger warning: "This novel is the second in a dark RH trilogy. Certain themes such as sex, self-harm, death and controversial beliefs are featured. However, those who always fall for the twisted, deranged villain and never question their own sanity about it, then come on in. The Afterlife Asylum is the place for you."

I absolutely love Maddison's books! I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I am loving the chemistry between Mania, Hoax, Pyro, and Ghost. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The book ends on an amazing cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait for book 2.5 Hoax: The Untold Story to be released in November 2022.

I would highly recommend this book if you love dark romances, reverse harems, or paranormal romance.

Kings of Madness

I've been patiently waiting for this book to release, and now I really need book 3. I've throughly enjoyed Mania and Ghost in this. We got a little bit of Hoax (so glad we get his story, 2.5 novella soon). Pyro's love for Mania is everything ❤️. I was sadden by a loss or two in this book. I can't wait for Christopher to get what's coming for him, the crazy ignorant fool.

What in the hunger games? I mean, not really but at a very broad level it resembled the hunger games. Spice was still great. I liked watching our fmc navigate these new relationships and I hope they can all get along better in the 3rd book. I'm definitely looking forward to book 3 but I hope it isn't as sad as book 2. There needs to be some more hope otherwise I'll just feel like there's no way there can be a HEA... which I hope there is one.
