An Icarus myth retelling about a traumatized queer art thief/forger? Sign me up!
This was such a sweet story about healing friendships, young love and standing up to abusive parents. The dedication immediately made me feel things and definitely don't skip the author's note either, I've rarely read such a beautiful ending to a book.

I feel catfished. This is not all what I expected and I am having a terrible time. I hate the way this is structured because it feels disjointed and abrupt. The chapters are really short and they have completely unrelated or only tangentially related chapter titles so we're constantly jumping in the middle of the scene to a new chapter and being interrupted.

 I like all of the characters, how the friendships Icarus is making are developing, and how he's realizing that he should have had these kinds of relationships the whole time but the way its told makes it so deeply unsatisfying to listen to. 

 There's also a huge theme of religious guilt That makes me so uncomfortable. Already we've gotten multiple prayer/confession scenes and how upset it makes Icarus. This combined with a structure that feels disjointed and a storytelling format I cant stand makes this incredibly painful to listen to.  Also Icarus smokes herbal cigarettes but its not framed as being bad. I hate when any book but especially a young adult book uses smoking and drinking as a cool stress reliever.

beautifully written, impactful story and memorable characters! 

filled with heartbreak and hope, love and loss and hate and grief and dreams. 

a story that has LGBTQ+ characters, chronic illness rep and so many other representations and moments that are beautiful!
