No es la mejor de las secuelas pero expande de manera agradable el universo que el autor nos presentó en La Sombra del Viento.

Tiene momentos muy intensos pero no logra mantener la atención todo el tiempo y el final no es particularmente bueno.

Eso si, Zafón escribe tan bonito que garantiza que lea la tercera parte.

Eine wunderbare und fantasievolle Geschichte, eine einzigartig beschriebene Welt, spannend treibt Zafon die Handlung an, sodass man das Buch nicht weglegen möchte. Zum Ende wird der Leser zunehmend mit Charakteren konfrontiert, die meines Erachtens etwas zu kurz eingeführt wurden, jedenfalls ergab sich dort für mich nur ein sehr konfuses Bild der Figuren. Nichtsdestotrotz ein wunderschönes Buch.

I picked up this book at the library because I had really enjoyed Shadow of the Wind and this was meant to be a prequel/sequel as I understood it.

Despite excellent writing, I just did NOT enjoy this novel as I did the first one. The story was too dark and ambiguous. Lots of death, lots of mystery never fully explained. I'd take a pass on it.

I had expected to love this one, as I had The Shadow of the Wind, but there was something missing. I enjoyed it, but was left a little disappointed.
