really enjoyed the characters of Jake and kallie. hot parts were hot and numerous lol.
A good continuation of the series, interested in reading Simon's story which was included in an anthology, but not sure I'll go too far out of my way for it.

There were several things in the book that bothered me, amongst which sexist and ableist comments, that made me have to put it down.

This series is so refreshing...the main characters weren't abused as children, aren't uber-wealthy, don't have perfect bodies, aren't always right, or sheltered virgins, or any one of the multitude of tiresome tropes that seem so ever-present in BDSM fiction today.
Kallie has abandonment and trust issues, small breasts, a big butt, and enough attitude to make you spit kool-aid out of your nose.
Jake has commitment issues with good reason (his ex-girlfriend committed suicide after he ended their relationship), a scarred face, and a hankering for a certain wilderness guide with a ton of attitude.
The sex and BDSM exploration is hot, the bad guy isn’t obvious (and is actually pretty scary), the supporting cast is realistic and well-written. While this is the second in the series, I don’t believe reading the first is necessary to understand what is going on in this book. But since the first book is just as good, why wouldn’t you read both?

I liked this one, but didn't love it. I wasn't really a fan of the h, mostly because I don't like "tomboy" heroines, but it's still worth the read!
