I would have enjoyed this book more if it were better edited. Too many short sentences. “It was 10 o’clock.” “Her hair was in a bun.” The story was engaging enough, although the ending left a lot to be desired. Did Jule even go to school with Imogen, however briefly? The book ended basically right where it started, leaving me with a feeling of it being unresolved.

intense fierce girl mc with some very questionable actions and virtues, not sure if dapat tularan or not, as a girl, nakkatapang (brave) ang story na toh but as a good friend, hmm not so much ❤️‍

Orale... 3.5

I listened to both Genuine Fraud and We Were Liars as audiobooks. Although I loved We Were Liars, Genuine Fraud was hard to follow and did not hold my interest the same way.

A beautifully crafted masterpiece. Everything about it was magnificent. I always say this about E. Lockhart and i'll say it again, her brain is a absolutely wondrous place.

272 p.

DNF at 50% cause I just don't care. The story is disjointed and trying too hard.

Not really sure how I feel about this. I did like the overall writing style and although the reverse-chronological timeline was a bit weird at first it REALLY started working well about halfway through. However there wasn't necessarily a lot of suspense here because the main 'twist' is pretty easy to guess early on, and while some of the details that are revealed towards the end put a bit more of a curve on it it's still pretty straight forward. As with many YA novels I think it would be a bit more believable with slightly older characters, but it was a fairly quick read and definitely had some interesting parts so I decided to round up instead of down.
