It was good! Quick read! Interesting how it is written backwards- i have never read a story written that way before. Had to go back and just check dates and things, but no biggie, i do that in a lot of books.

I wanted to love this, but all of the characters were terrible people with no redeeming qualities. The mystery of it all was compelling enough, but I was hoping for some back story about Jule that explained why she was doing what she did. We never truly get those details so basically she's just awful because she can get away with it.

Wow! Every time I thought I had this one figured out, there was another plot twist! I absolutely loved how the storyline worked its way backward in time.

Even though the book was slow and somewhat frustrating to read at times, the ending was a giant slap in the face that somehow made it all worth it.

I listened to this as an audiobook which was a mistake because the book is in reverse chronological order, but I made it through and ended up enjoying most of the novel.

This book was an interesting concept. The chapters went backwards in order. It was engaging though and had you guessing at what the real story was.

Another very messed up but totally excellent book from E. Lockhart! This doesn't have an out-of-nowhere ending like [b:We Were Liars|16143347|We Were Liars|E. Lockhart|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1402749479s/16143347.jpg|21975829], it just keeps getting progressively more complicated and messed up.

E. Lockhart is an author that would be familiar to those of us who read a lot of YA due to a book like We Were Liars which was one of my favourite books and was hyped up by many in the book community. When I therefore first heard that E. Lockhart was releasing a new book I was therefore really excited about it and it delivered offering an intriguing premise that had me engaged until the end.

I have seen negative reviews for this book and therefore feel like this is a book that can be a little bit like marmite where people will love it or hate it but I loved this book. I was slightly confused at first as I didn't know what was going to happen but I got over this quite quickly and became engaged with the story as I was trying to piece it together.

The plot to this book is told backwards so I can see why it can be confusing at time but I found that this added to the plot as I did just want to find out what happens as quickly as possible. The beginning of the book does feel complicated as you don't really know what goes on until the end but I still found this really interesting and I kept reading.

I would also advise not to think about things as you go along and just let it evolve on the page because I overthought it and discovered the plot which didn't let me down but this could be something that could affect someone's experience.

The characters in this book are also not that developed and likeable but I think this is the point as these people are not nice but I think that this does add to the book and in the end, I did just like how dark Jules got by the end.

The Verdict:

Genuine Fraud is an exciting and interesting read that will keep the reader guessing until the very end.
