This is officially my first Neil Gaiman book. I own a few of his books but I still need to pick them up.

This short story was intriguing and interesting.

Haunting, beautiful, timeless.

Be careful of this tale, it has a wicked bite.

When it comes to Neil Gaiman’s short stories, I find them to be hit or miss. This one, unfortunately, fell into the miss category for me. Down to a Sunless Sea was a quick read, but I wasn’t as wowed by it as I could have been. I happily powered through it, but I was left wanting more and there wasn’t anything that ensured it stayed with me. All in all, not a favourite from the author.

A marvellous little grotesque short story, with exceptionally vivid imagery and practically audible sounds. Might not have been the wisest to read it before bed, but worth whatever it brings.
