I loved Love & Gelato; Love & Luck, unfortunately, is not a good follow-up. The author tries to recreate some of the mystery that drove the plot in the first book by having Addie, our main character, hold on to a big secret, but it just doesn't work here. I felt it prevented me from establishing a connection with Addie, and, above all, it was just annoying and hindered my enjoyment of the book. Moreover, contrary to what happened in Love & Gelato, I didn’t feel transported to Ireland; the descriptions were too underwhelming, vague, and all the same – Ireland is green, we get that.
Speaking of things that look the same: Walter, and Archie. As Addie’s brothers, they were bland, and I could never tell their voices apart. These two could have been a single character and they would still not add much to the plot.
Furthermore, I had a tough time getting into this book; the first three chapters were a mess: between the confusion and the constant bickering, I had to idea what was going on. I also found the Guidebook entries rather cringy and misplaced at first, but then they kind of grew on me; still, it was a strange format, and it could have been put to a better use within the story.
I am only giving this book 3 stars instead of 2 because, for once, it was nice to read a book centered around a different and equally important kind of love: family and friendship. This story has also highlighted that there are many types of heartache, and they are all valid, so, for that message, I’m giving Love & Luck a positive review and I’m hoping that the next book will be much better!

An easy and quick read. A bit too young for me, but I want to finish the series. :)
I was glad it was more a self-love story than a big romance. I appreciated the love between the brothers and Addie.
