I didn't read the Goosebumps books in order, you don't have to since the characters change with each book. But for anyone that is reading them in order should know that The Cuckoo Clock of Doom has a tough job. It follows what I would say is the best book in the series (Night in Terror Tower) so if you enjoy it's predecessor as much as I did then this probably won't live up to whatever expectations you have.

My kids wanted to pick my next read, and this was their pick. I can't believe how much I enjoyed this just as much as when I was younger and was obsessed with the books and show. I won't rate it because I would give it an easy 5 stars due to the nostalgia.

The cuckoo clock of doom is what it says its name is.
I hate kids, especially younger siblings who are bullies. And it goes without saying it was instantly annoying to have Tara around for her brother.
Not a spoiler, but I secretly enjoyed the ending partly because of my repulsion to Tara

2 stars. I only liked the ending to this. Other than that this one was a pain to get through. The main character, Michael was okay. I felt so bad for him because his family sucked so bad and they loved antagonizing and picking at him. The plot was kind of cool but became a bit convoluted by the end and fell apart. This series is so hit or miss with me.
