Top tier horror without the need for monsters! Pre-birth is something that all of us have wondered about, and Stine uses that concept horrifyingly well in this novel to make us wonder what would happen if we blinked out of existence. Very well written, great continuity and pacing. This might be my favorite of the series, and if not my favorite, definitely top five by the time I'm done with them all

This one took a bit to win me over because it starts with such a strong antagonist relationship with his younger sister, and that just isn't my thing. But I will say it took some unexpected turns and ended up surprizing me more than one. Fun times!

What a nasty little brat! Made me really angry! I suppose this means I was totally immersed in this book haha
I just don’t care for this story at all. It’s also the only twist ending that’s happy?
I’ve read this one several times and remember it quite clearly at this point, but that doesn’t change the feeling of dread and tension that builds up throughout the book. I do think the lead-up is a little too drawn out, but once you get through that, it’s definitely got the classic Goosebumps feel to it.
4.5/5
I loved the Goosebumps books as a kid and read most of the original series [they belonged to my sister-- now I see the entire set online for over $1,000 LOL]. these books are extremely easy to read -- I read this one in under an hour at work, but its still eerie for children. This was one of my favorites of the series and its funny to reread it after 20 or so years and see that R.L. Stine was so able to so effortlessly craft a children's paranormal horror book that was relatable to so many children and still be creepy.
