Alexis Hall rarely misses, but the sheer volume of angst in this book was a bit much. The miscommunication really took away from my enjoyment. Was it funny as fuck, yes. Was it hot, yes. Maybe I'm just too old to truly appreciate young messy gays... love the concept and the tropes, but the drama of it all was an annoyance.

Hovering between a 3 and 4 for this one. I think I wanted to like it more than I did. I think there's something about Hall's writing that I was not too fond of. I don't know how to explain it more than that. The sentences were occasionally structured oddly and so I felt myself getting pulled out of the story everytime I noticed it.

Also, the characters are ridiculous. Like unbelievably ridiculous. Like almost unreadable ridiculous. Especially the side characters.

The trope was a trope and therefore enjoyable for what it was. Overall I had a positive experience reading this, so I'll be picking up the sequel.
