I cannot believe this is my first time really reading Berserk. I have always heard of it and seen the artwork. I had friends talk about it in length and now, I can understand fully as to why. This is one of the best manga series I have picked up in my life. I browsed a little at one point and set it down, then decided to buy the deluxe edition. Worse case scenario is I had a big book to gain inspiration from for my own artwork. I am so glad I bought this and will 110% be buying the next edition and the one after that. This is worth a spot on any manga fans “to read” list. I am ready for more!!!

Berserk is a story that I've wanted to read for a very long time due to its notoriety.  I wish I hadn't waited so long.  While I find that Guts isn't lovable yet, I am dying to continue this story because of the masterful artwork.  Kentaro Muira was incredible and I am sadden by his passing.

It's incredibly graphically violent. Why does the elf look like a naked child? I don't like the art style of the main character at all, although some of the other art was pretty cool.

I thought I'd tried this because it was getting a lot of buzz on BookTube. It's definitely interesting but I don't think it's really for me.

Not for the faint of heart. 
Gripping, dark and yet couldn’t get enough. The first volume set up characters and major events well, without giving too much away - keeping the air of mystery and intrigue. 

The art is outstanding, and lives up to all of the hype it was given when it was recommended to me.

A must read.
