Definitely building towards something bigger, and the cliffhanger at the end...brutal. Will be buying vol 2 in the near future. I imagine 13 yo me would've been floored by this book, so there's a nice feeling of childlike wonder as I turn each page. A dark, dark fairytale.

Amazing! I loved this it had the perfect mixture of being a bit dark but Puck was there for gentle comic relief. I love a demon story line and I will be carrying this on.
Good Start
Good intro to the characters. I feel I’m getting a sense of Guts and his motivation even if we don’t yet really know anything about him or how he ended up as he is at this point.
I’ve come to really appreciate the black and white art. I don’t mind gore but it does temper its effect making it less violent somehow. All the shading and battle scenes are really well done.

my friend javier walked me through the story digitally (after showing me the 3 golden age arc movies) and then we read the recent chapters as they came out but i saw this at the library and had to reread it from the start. such an incredible story, so devastating that kento miura passed away so early. technically this is five stars HOWEVER, the actual panic attack and nonstop tears the end of the golden age arc induced at 3 in the morning on october 2, 2022 (not to mention all the other very difficult situations to read throughout the story) definitely took a toll so yea… ALL WRITTEN VERY ELOQUENTLY JUST STILL DIFFICULT TO SEE NONETHELESS. favorite characters: puck, guts, serpico. (hard to choose i love alot of them)

I was incredibly excited to start this series. First deluxe was pre cool but it’s still very early on where we don’t know much about the main character “Guts” and tbh he is kinda unlikeable. Also Kentaro Miura art style has to be one of my favourite of all time. I’m just a huge fan of dark fantasy settings.
