Cranked it in one day. Probably a case of expectations being the thief of joy here for me. Everyone says this is basically the best thing ever and I feel let down based on that. However I imagine the series gets better. Shoutout to the one year wait I had this on hold at the library. Double shoutout to myself for having the self control to wait and not just go buy this lol

I'm very neutral on this first installment. I know the first arc is supposed to be not the beset and also quite controversial, therefore I'm trying to read it with an open mind and push through if necessary.
The art style is incredibly detailed and I bet it took ages to draw. The story is nothing special at the moment and I do have the impression, that all of the gore is a little exaggerated..

The dark fantasy's start. It's weird coming back to this story and seeing where Guts begins versus where he is later on. At this point, Puck basically acts as his conscience which is a weird dynamic. RIP Kentaro Miura, your work has been an inspiration for so many things.
