asked my friend for a manga to start with bc i usually don't read manga and they handed me this brick. not sure if its beginner friendly lol but i didn't dislike it. the artwork is next level stunning, guts and puck are very stereotypical "cool guy" and "comedic sidekick" characters and the story very classic "good vs evil" – not a lot of new concepts or nuance, except that  guts is not really a good guy per se, which helps. I still couldn't grasp him and he annoyed me, it was a LOT of edgy toxic masculinity to take ngl. i hope to see him change & the start of his backstory intrigued me so i will for sure keep reading. honestly the high level art makes up for the lack in story until now. also its a beautiful edition (but annoying because impossible to carry with me when i go out???)
