I love sports romance stories, and I am a huge hockey fan! So of course I jumped on the chance to read Once Upon A Power Play by Jennifer Bonds! I am so glad that I did, as this book was sexy and sweet and I had a lot of fun reading about Ryan and Chloe. Though this is the second book in the Risky Business series, each book can be read as a standalone with interconnected characters.

Chloe Jacobs is done with guys and fairytales. She knows that life isn't for her. But when a dangerous situation puts the sexy Ryan Douglas in her life, she has no problem using him for one sexy night together. After being sidelined by an injury, Ryan should be focused on getting back into the game yet he finds himself drawn to Chloe. But each of them are drawn to one another and the attraction is more than they can fight. What starts out as one night quickly escalates to more, and soon it is more than just physical. But can Ryan convince Chloe to give him a real shot?

I absolutely loved Ryan! He was sweet and sexy and impossible not to fall in love with. He was a really great guy and I loved how he was with Chloe. She was such a smart and sweet girl, but she had this sassy side to her that was so easy to root for. The two of them together was beyond perfect, and I just had so much fun reading about them. The chemistry and attraction was there right away for these two, and the steam between them was scorching hot! But I also really loved seeing them grow closer and watching as things began to deepen for them. Their relationship was so natural and genuine, and I loved how things progressed.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and the characters were so easy to feel invested in. This book was exactly what I needed for a quick and enjoyable story to lose myself in for a few hours. If you are a fan of steamy contemporary romance stories, this is definitely one worth checking out. You don't have to be a sports fan to enjoy this story, but if you are this is a really great one! Having enjoyed this book so much, I know I will be reading more from Jennifer Bonds in the future. I can't wait to go back and read the first book about Chloe's best friend Olivia, and I would love to see more books in this series for some of Ryan's teammates as well! Once Upon A Power Play is one I would highly recommend!

This a fun and easy read. I liked Ryan and Chloe. I loved their banter and the sexy time was great! The drama was minimal and not to drawn out. And for once we didn’t have a manwhore of hockey player

Even though there were enjoyable parts I really struggled with this book it was cliche and very predictable thus it didn't fully grab and hold my attention.

I thought there will be some aspect of power play in this story. After I finished reading it, there is none. The story is flat. No twist or drama.

What is lacking is the imagination. In romance world, the theme of the story os repeating. However some authors manage to bring out something interesting. Character development, chemistry, banters, push and pull to make the story more interesting.

Not with this book.

Another great installment in this series! I'm not the biggest fan of sports romances (don't tell anyone) but this one was really sweet and I loved the added aspect of the kids' charity. I didn't like how during the breakup so much blame was put on the heroine as I felt she was well within her rights to be pissed but the absolutely adorable epilogue made up for it.

What a spectacular book this was!!

It’s funny, sexy, sweet, etc. It makes your heart beat faster and at the same time, laugh like there is no tomorrow!

There are so many things I loved about this book!

First of all, I haven’t read a better beginning of a novel in a very long time. It just draws your attention like nothing else matters other than this book. The suspense, the humor, the banter, oh my God…

Second of all, the characters...But most of all, their chemistry. They push each other’s limits, they challenge each other, they bring the better version of themselves when they’re together. It was amazing!

I seriously and honestly adored their relationship and its evolution.

Chloe didn’t want a commitment for various reasons, and I can’t say that I blame her based on what she had to face. But Ryan decided he wanted more. And here comes the part I really, really liked. There was no macho, overbearing “I say we’re together, the girl accepts it, and game over”. They had a conversation -brief- and Ryan simply spoke the truth, his truth. And Chloe accepted it, because she accepted him, them together. They showed emotion and maturity that I don’t see very often. Their relationship evolved so realistically, so beautifully, so effortlessly that it made the book so much greater.

This book is about a true, real romance born in fairytale world and raised in the real one.

There is nothing I would change, nothing more I could have wished for. In fact, it surpassed any expectations I had about this.

I strongly recommend this book. Humor. Romance. Heat. Drama. Betrayal. Emotion. Once upon a Power Play has it all, and I feel very proud to present you this amazing novel.

Once upon a Power Play by Jennifer Bonds receives 5 Amazing Stars, because it is fantastic and truly magnificent!!

First time reading a book by this author and I’m entirely pleased with Once Upon A Power Play by Jennifer Bonds!
As always when I pick a Brazen title, I expect to read a light, fun and sexy romance story and this title completely filled the bill and then some. Predictable? Yes, but very satisfying!

After being stood-up on a date night by text and after a streak of bad luck dating the wrong men, Chloe Jacobs swore off the male gender altogether and goes on a mission to make herself a solo girl night IN party… at home, yes. Margaritas and ice cream are on the menu but there isn’t a single lime in her house.

She meets Ryan Douglas in a grocery store, gorgeous male specimen becoming instantly her nemesis. He stole the last lime of the store, right under her nose, the bastard!
Ensues an hilarious bantering session, Chloe deciding this arrogant lumberjack—hey, he was wearing a flannel shirt— is the proof she was right giving up on men.

An unexpected robbery later, Chloe agrees against her good will to be walked home by the lime thief.
Her resolutions on men all forgotten she invites Ryan in and lightning sparks!

That’s how the book starts. And I must say sister spirit prevailing, I was immediately pulled in the book and cheering up for the heroine. The easy banter and chemistry between the characters was palpable and kept me reading until the book was already over! I thoroughly enjoyed the Chloe’s POV, she was a little crazy, a lot feisty, just how I like my heroines to be.
I’m taking a spin on the North Pole.
I need it. And I deserve it. I don’t care if I end up on the naughty list.

Ryan was a great male character, he’s recovering from a bad break up and physical sport injury and is just about getting on the ice again. He’s the Captain of the New York Rangers Team. Yes, we’re talking Hockey, ladies. He had quite the filthy mouth attached to him and I truly enjoyed reading him.
Right now you want me to fuck you so dirty the only thing you will be able to think of—the only thing you will care about— will be your next orgasm. The first of many I’m going to give you tonight.

I’m not going to run a point by point resume of Once Upon a Power Play, but I will tell you this, if you are looking for a few hours of fun, like your heroines fierce and with spunk, if you’re craving steamy hot scenes and playful bantering session and are not against gorgeous hockey players, then you know what to do! Pick this one already!

Once Upon A Power Play is part of the Risky Business series and can be read as standalone.
