Growing up Catholic in the 1950s-60s added an extra layer of relatability for me. I recognized the rigidity and so many of the rituals and attitudes that caused harm in members of this sad family. This is a well-written story of coming to terms with what must be done to move into the light of happiness. And the young daughter Amy is my favorite, so responsible and wise beyond her years.
This book was amazingly creepy in all the right ways. The writing was easy to read and the pages flew by. This is one book I wish would have never ended.
