I was kinda worried about reading this book because I knew it had to do with terrorists and I'm not really interested in reading those types of topics. However, after I read the first few pages I knew the book was more about a boy struggling to take care of himself and his father and he would do it anyway he could. It reminded me of some of the students I have that take care of themselves and family members.
Terrorism was in there which I didn't suspect. It worked though. The book was good but, it just felt like it was missing something. The characters weren't that strong maybe? I don't know but, it was a little bit lacking to be a really great and amazing book.

Read this the summer before 8th grade for the summer reading assignments. And I really enjoyed it. This and the giver were probably my favorite books I had to read for school! Loved the main character and his struggles thought it was really interesting about the terrriots and such.
