I cried my eyes out like a baby for most of the book, but this book is definitely in the top 3 of best books I have ever read. It might even be my favorite!
It was an okay read. Ursa was an odd child (alien?), and how she wrapped Jo and Gabe around her fingers was strange. Including the behaviors of the police force in rural Illinois, how they just warned Jo not to entertain the child but made no effort to search for a runaway kid, even when the surrounding forests were not exactly child-friendly. Were the quarks a real deal?
The story follows two neighbors harboring a homeless runaway child while some positive changes happen in the life of the people around. As the story progresses, one comes back to the question: Is the child trying to get over a trauma, or is it an alien?

Such a great book. Based on the summary, this isn't one that I would typically read, but my mom and grandmother said they couldn't put it down. Once I started, I couldn't put it down! I had to find out more about Ursa and it couldn't happen fast enough. I enjoyed getting to know more about Jo and Gabe, while Ursa remained a mystery throughout the book until near the end. I would definitely recommend!
