3.5 While this book was better than the first book, I missed the deeper emotional character connection we have with other Hotvat stories.

There is magic in Roe Horvat's words. I seriously don't know how he does it but every single book of his has just reached into my soul and captured it.

This one is no different for all Roe labels it erotica and pops it into a different box.

It's still a beautifully written tale of love, of finding the right person who just understands you, who knows what you need and when you need it.

Is it erotic, oh Hell yes it is.

Does it make you puddle in a pool of drool, absolutely yes.

But it's so much more than that.

It's about finding a home, it's about filling up the empty and lost spaces in your heart and it's about moving forward with the knowledge that you can live your life exactly as you want with the right person at your side.

In just a few chapters, Roe gives us the start of the amazing relationship between Adam and Cristoffer that we saw in [b:The Other Book|43380012|The Other Book (Those Other Books #1)|Roe Horvat|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1545995117s/43380012.jpg|67393320] and it is glorious.

If there’s ever a contest, with the goal being to write the most smut in the least amount of pages, I’m sure Roe Horvat would win with one hand tied behind his back.

Is it possible to have too many sex scenes in a PWP story? I really think it is. Only 120 pages or so, but they were fucking almost constantly!

I did NOT expect the vulnerability that Adam showed, especially with the way he was portrayed in Tyler's book.

I was expecting top level smut with this one, but the way their feelings were explored gave me a better glimpse of the two MCs. It was so beautiful to watch them bloom while they were together.

Remember the cute and sexy side couple in The Other Book? Well, this is their story. We follow Christoffer and Adam’s through a weekend filled with sex and cute moments –but it’s mostly sex.

I must admit I had a couple of problems with this book because, even though I love Roe Horvat’s writing, Adam Only has a few tropes I don’t particularly like:

-The insta-love in relationships is always a turn off for me. No matter who writes it, I just don’t fully enjoy it because it seems unbelievable. Yes, I think you can have sex with someone you’re attracted to if given the chance, but developing feelings takes time. Two people can fit perfectly in bed but they need struggles in order to demonstrate that their relationship is worth fighting for.

-The huge age gap. I’m not particularly fond to relationships that have more than 5 years between them. I know people are OK with 10, 15, or even 20 years apart, and I’m sorry but I'm not. And whenever I see this, I picture Freud taking a sip to his wine.

-The main conflict was merely due to miscommunication, which to me is just lazy writing. Don’t get me wrong, I love Roe Horvat’s style, I really do, but this couple seemed way better in the first book, and I was expecting more from their own story.

-Sex scenes were smoking hot and thrilling, but I need more domestic scenes, more dates, and more struggle from both of the characters. I know the novella is really short (I think it was only +100 pages), but Horvat has proved that his novellas are perfect, that their characters can develop within a few pages.

I’m kind of bummed with his book, but maybe that’s on me because I expected this to be great and it was just OK. I didn’t fall in love with them the way I did in the previous book.

Anyway, the cover is simple yet stunning, which is something I praise in Horvat’s work. I would recommend it but honestly, I liked the first one the most.

Audiobook - 4 stars

Story - 2.5 stars

Oi! I really wanted this to be 5 stars but it just wasn't for me.

This is a case of it's me, not the book.

description

I loved Adam and Chris when they appeared in book 1. I was looking forward to their story, but when this happened, it ended up being sex, sex, sex, sex, and more sex. I do understand that this is erotica, and i love me some sex, at the beginning it was hot then it became too much.

I ended up zoning out sometimes and didn't feel the connection between Adam and Chris outside the sex crazed zone they were in and when i blinked John Solo was saying Epilogue, and i was like!!

description

Overall, it was okay until it wasn't.

Totally me not the book.

Christopher meets Adam at a party and is directly drawn to him. He takes him and instead of just a one night stand they are together for the weekend but Adam made huge mistakes in his past and while he is also drawn to Christopher he decides to leave before he gets hurt again.

This was good but too short. There is a huge focus on the sex and while I liked the scenes I would have loved more story around it.

As for the characters I liked them and I think they are cute together. I already read the other two books in the series and have to say I liked those more but this was still a good book.

Low angst. Super hot. Basically focuses on evolution of relationship. I would have liked more background and inner voices of both MCs. No secondary plot. Still I enjoyed it.
