LEXIE MF AXELSON. 😭 this book was so good!! So absolutely good. I was drawn in from the MOMENT I read the dedication. Learning Operator Creatures story really got me respecting him even more. This book had so much spice and emotion I have no idea what to do with myself. WARNING!!!!⚠️ this ends on a cliffhanger. And it will cause you to bawl your eyes out.

Speechless…that is what I am right now after finishing this masterpiece!!
If you read Danny and Ari’s book and fell head over heels for Danny, then you got another thing coming with Daegan! I didn’t think anything would beat Danny but I should have known Daegan, with the operator sign of Creature, you just know he is going to be a whole different creature.😏
Daegan was such a mystery in the previous books that you couldn’t help but want to know his story. And you knew it was going to be a sad one but goodness I was not expecting what I read. Your heart just goes out for him, everything that he went through and to come out of it.
I loved that Alessia was not afraid of him. She was just as intrigued as all of us were with Daegan.
Alessia, I gotta say she shocked me! I was not thinking she was going to be the type of girl that she was. Not saying anything wrong with that but good for her for finding herself with Daegan. I loved that they both found themselves within each other.
You know the author is a great writer when they can make your heart hurt with their words, like physical hurt! I experienced that TWICE while reading this book. I have never had my heart hurt so much while reading that it took my breath away and made me stop reading to gather myself.
Be warned that you need to read the TW before going into this book. You will be put through a roller coasters of emotions. Especially with one quote at the end…😭
And we are left on another cliffhanger as well!!

Pretend is book 3 in the Scarred Executioner series and while you can read this book as a standalone, I highly recommend that you read the first two.
When I was first introduced Daegan Hannibal aka operator Creature in book 2, I knew I was going to love him when it came time to tell his story and he did not disappoint. I think I loved him more than Danny🫢.
The premise of this book had me hooked immediately and what’s not to like when the best sniper currently in the Navy Seals is ordered to play bodyguard to the admiral’s stepdaughter while deployed?! The chemistry that Alessia and Daegan had was off the charts. The tender moments between these two absolutely melted my heart and I’m so happy we got to finally see the real man Daegan was hiding behind his mask. Overall, this book was so freaking good and I highly recommend!
Note for Lexie Axelson: I forgave you after the ending that messed me up in book 1 but the ending in this one may be unforgivable!!😭😭

I was lucky to revive an ARC copy of this book and this is my unbiased review.
Pretend is the third book in the Scarred Executioners series but can be read as a standalone.
This book follows Deagan “Creature” Hannibal and Alessia Valentin.
Deagan is known for always wearing his mask and never missing a shot as a sniper. Alessia is the Admiral’s daughter and has a hit on her. So when Alessia is about to get deployed her dad assigns Deagan as her bodyguard.
This book had me running through so many emotions. I loved how perfect they were for each other. Deagan is the perfect red flag obsessive boyfriend we all love and Alessia can definitely hold her own.
I loved the plot. The suspense. And alllllll the yummy spice.
Overall I gave this book 4.75⭐️ and 4🌶️

I loved this book so much!! I screamed, I cried (more times than I can count), I was filled with joy, and all the other emotions. I absolutely adore Danny from See You Soon but Daegon has stolen my heart from him. He's a scarred man with a troublesome past and he found someone who loved him for who he is and not his scars. Alessia is someone who I connected with on a deeper level because I too am always giving bits and pieces of myself when I am barely holding on. Daegon and Alessia are both wonderful humans who deserve the world and they found that in each other.
