A cozy fantasy romance about two cinnamon rolls who can’t help but fall for each other. The MC is a male siren rejected by his people and desperately trying to stay unattached to people to prevent himself from getting hurt. The FMC is an elven tinkerer who is asked to create a golem to protect some helpless fae folk who are being brutally attacked. This books was so cute and cozy and I absolutely loved both MCs!

while i can see the potential, this was advertised as a “slow burn” and once i hit pg 100 i realized that this in fact was not a slow burn. the world building wasn’t as strong as it should have been and i feel confused for most of the book :/

Leviathan's Song is *such* a cool story! You wouldn't be able to tell from the world building and dialogues that this is a debut novel. I don't often read fantasy but I was familiar with most creatures mentioned and overall felt like I was visiting a place I hadn't been to in a long time but kinda sorta knew. Lots of stuff I recognized, lots of stuff was new and kept things interesting. I can't wait for the second book

3.5 stars. Cute, but the plot could have used more development. The initial setup with the main characters was enjoyable but the second half of the book felt under developed.

I really enjoyed the world building in this book.

I love Elara and Levi but I will say this isn't really a slow burn so if you're hoping for that this might not be for you.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The character development and world building in particular were very well done. This is a great book if you're looking for something with a lot of adventure in it, or if you're looking for a fantasy with a detailed world. The romance between Levi and Elara is great, too! Though I would more call it a medium-fast burn than a slow burn.

I was slightly disappointed by the ending. I still have a few questions that I think could be answered within this book, but nothing is significantly left open, and this is definitely an HEA.

I included an explanation of the CWs I added in the CW section if you want more details about that.
