Tanner and Louise are quite a pair. Tanner starts out by being Louise's driver and finds herself on the run from the law with none other than Louise. This is a charming story of a lot of misunderstanding, and yet, not all innocent misunderstanding. Louise turns out to be quite a character. I think I liked her best.

I gave this book 4.5 stars could be 5 tomorrow if find myself thinking about the characters again. It was fun to read. I needed to read it for a work book club I honestly was procrastinating but when I finally started I couldn’t stop. Had the audio on 2x speed while reading along in the book. The audio book on normal speed is super slooooow. Read it or speed it up. But i found it funny and the sass was strong. It was refreshing to read about female leads who didn’t falter and weren’t “stupid” with girlie stereotypes. Strong and adventurous female driven story line. Lots of surprises. I am excited to read more books from this author

This is simply an entertaining, fast-paced book. Two people aren't friends or relatives. Yet, they need each other.
Tanner was 21 years old and had to find a job. She had a soccer scholarship at a college she loved and then she went to a party and fell off of a two-story balcony. Her knee was seriously injured and sadly, she lost her college funding. Her parents didn’t have the $10,690 tuition she needed. Then, someone recommended her as a caretaker for 84-year-old Louise who recently had hip surgery. It seemed like a good fit at the time.
Tanner moved right into Louise’s guest room. It was a somewhat awkward with the two personalities. And then a week or so later in the middle of the night, Louise was standing in her bedroom. She said she needed her to be a driver. They were in Atlanta and Louise wanted to go across the country to California in a week’s time.
Tanner was offered enough money which could pay for the tuition she needed for her senior year. But first, Tanner asked Louise if she was a felon. Louise said, “No…technically a felon is someone who’s been convicted of a crime. I’ve never been caught.” Tanner managed to get ready in a hurry for this five-day job. This was going to be a wild ride.
I don’t think I’ve ever read a book as fast as this one. It moved quickly with an engaging plot. It felt like the author had a lot of fun writing this. Tanner never expected to get some real-life lessons from someone that looked like a grandmother and maybe each reader will take some of what Louise said to heart.

Jag ville tycka om den här boken, men jag hade större förhoppningar på relationen mellan huvudpersonerna. Tanner har varit tvungen att hoppa av universitetet på grund av en skada i benet som gjort att hon inte kan fortsätta spela fotboll på stipendium. Hon får anställning hos Louise, en äldre kvinna med ett mystiskt förflutet. Tanner börjar misstänka att Louise i själva verket är en efterlyst brottsling, och ungefär samtidigt så säger Louise plötsligt till Tanner att de måste dra, och roadbooken börjar.
Det hade varit mysigare om huvudpersonerna fann varandra lite tidigare, jag tycker att det var lite utdraget. Skummade mittendelen av boken faktiskt, fallet intresserade mig inte riktigt. Och flera av karaktärerna kändes onödiga.
