This is such a fun book. I love the relationship between the two main characters and how they feel real.

4.5 ⭐ such a cute mystery that was feisty until the final pages.

Elderly Louise Wilt recently fell and her kids are insistent she hire in home help. Twenty one year old Tanner recently suffered a career ending injury and isn't headed back to college. So, Tanner reluctantly moves in with Louise in the hopes of earning some quick cash to get her life back on track. Little does Tanner know, Mrs. Wilt is a suspected jewel thief. Soon the unlikely pair is on the run from the past and the law.

Things I liked:
- the twist at the end. I did not see it coming at all!

-Louise (and later George's) character. Louise was such a a trailblazer. I loved her no BS attitude. I loved that she came off super tough but had such a caring and thoughtful heart. From her work with George to the way she sees all people, Louise was such a badass. She stood up for and protected women all around her, all the time. Her entire character arch was perfection.

- the theme of friendship. George and Louise's friendship showed the testament of time and love. It tugged on my heart strings big time. Also Louise and Tanner's eventual bond. I loved that they both found each other at the right time in their life. It was so sweet.

- the pace. The book moved along well, had just enough characters, and was a fun read. I definitely enjoyed it.

I loved this book. It was cute, it made me laugh, it made me emotional, and the characters had such growth (both individually and as friends). Such a warm and fuzzy read.

Lighthearted and fun without being trite or overly saccharine.  Would be a great road trip audio book.

I am a sucker for a story that involves an elderly woman and a younger woman. Towards the end the storyline seemed to get a little much, but it’s super cute. I love what Louise and Tanners relationship and what they bring out of each other.
