Not my favourite of King’s but definitely a nicely dark YA or even middle grade fantasy novel. It’s standard fare, but that doesn’t matter, as it remains entertaining.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this one! It’s kind of set in medieval times and it’s got a compelling story about two princes and a Stephen King universe recurring villain. Very unlike anything else I’ve read from SK.

I thought this started out great, but seemed to become slow halfway through. I dig enjoy it overall, but felt like it needed something else.
I must confess I hated this book at first!
I hated the story, the narration style and nothing about it thrilled me for the fist 30% of the story, but fortunately it got way better as the story progressed. It improved so much that I really read the second half of the book in one sitting, while the first half had taken me around a week.
