I picked this one up because of the creature (which turned out to be a valraven) on the cover. Fortunately, the story did not disappoint. I enjoyed the writing style, which was poetic and fluid. The story concentrated on Muire, a waelcyrge (angel) who survives the apocalypse by running cowardly from the last battle. I'm still mulling it over in my mind. It has many things to consider about redemption and worth, and has a satisfying ending.

This is well-written, but I just don't have a taste for stories where the characters are enormously powerful/immortal/angsty.
