It's refreshing to have a romance where the main characters have such compelling and realistic flaws and insecurities. A couple with ADHD and OCD, making room for each other and supporting one another. Charming, lovely little romance.

This is my first five-star read of the year, and those are hard to come by. The character development and complexity and depth of everyone’s personalities, including side characters, was brilliant and well-executed. The way neurodivergence and mental illness was addressed was truly well done, really leaning into that daily struggle that be so overwhelming at times. This is one of these books that I will remember long into the year, and many years after that.

I really liked this and the representation of the different mental health struggles of both main characters. It was well written and the characters were likeable. An atypical rom-com in that the characters weren't "perfect".

this was SUCH A CUTE AND FUN IRISH READ!!! I want to move to Cobb and work at The Local 😭😭😭😭
Raine left Boston for Europe to make it as a traveling musician, busking from country to country and seeing the world. That is, until she’s robbed of almost everything she owns in Cobh, including her guitar and other musical necessities. In Cobh, she meets Jack, owner of The Local pub, and after a shared drink and some flirty banter, Jack asks Raine to work for him to try and liven up the pub. With nowhere else to go and no way to earn money, Raine accepts the job. Naturally, all their time spent together working on the pub leads to some developed feelings, but their lifestyles are so different that it’s hard to see a future together. As the pub gains popularity, their time together seems to be close to an end, and Jack and Raine have to decide whether they’ll fight to make their relationship work, or give up altogether.
I simply loved this book. The vibes were immaculate. Jack was FUNNY and CHARMING and HOT and IRISH. All great things. and it was so lovely seeing him and Raine develop their relationship, especially through the understanding of their shared neurodivergence. I so deeply related to Raine’s ADHD, and felt it was a really great representation of how it can be a daily challenge, but that it’s not something to be ashamed of and that you can find ways to work with it.
Genuinely need to book a trip to Ireland after this one. I highly recommend it!!
