Jem is precious ohmygosh. The rest is just meh, I don't like Tessa at all. The plot was also really lacking as well. But I have to keep reading for Jem.

My second Cassandra Clare book starts exactly where Clockwork Angel had left off. Will is being pathetic, Jem is being a delight and Tessa knows that she likes Will but leading Jem on. I mean, it is obvious from the get go who she will end up with, which for me makes this whole love triangle pointless. I feel like it exists only to hurt my most precious character, Jem.
Narrative wise, I feel like sometimes it can be super fast paced one moment, then at sloth speed on the next page. For me, this can sometimes lead to frustration, as I had said about the first book: it feel like Clare is dragging out the plot for no particular reason other than to have a trilogy.
I do not feel like there is a lot of character development in this story. Sure, Will wants his curse lifted, Tessa has to go through Shadowhunter training because the Consul says so, but other than that, I see nothing. I feel like they do not grow older, wiser. Will is still a reckless idiot, Jem is still my precious cinnamon roll that I must protect and Tessa is still confused.
Plot wise, they do not make a lot of advancement in the story which makes me once again say: IT'S BECAUSE THERE MUST BE THREE BOOKS. Well, book 3 better be a party of else I will be very upset.
Still, although I am looking at this book with a VERY critical eye, I ask myself this: is it entertaining? Hell to the yes. Do I want to read more with these three? Hell to the yes again. I do not know what it is, maybe this is Cassandra Clare's gift, but although her stories are slow just because she wants to, they still keep you tied to it. You want to read more and you find yourself liking but complaining about things at the same time. The feeling is very confusing, by the way.
Overall, yes it is frustrating, yes I love Jem, yes I like Will, yes I still want to slap Tessa and yes I did like this second book in the Infernal Devices. Do I feel like I'm spiraling into a fandom? YES.

Love this book !!!!!!!!! Could Not read it fast enough !! A M A Z I N G ...... LOVED LOVED LOVED .

Absolutnie cudowne, a to zakończenie???? Jednocześnie tak dobre i tak łamiące serce.

I love Clockwork Prince. For a series with an ok plot, this novel excels when it comes to its characters. You can feel the relationships and love through the book. It pains me to watch Tessa try and convince herself that Jem is enough because he is so pure and good. Will almost takes a backseat in this novel in order for the relationship between Jem and Tessa to grow, but he is far from absent. His heart is in every interaction, casting a light across the book. Watching him change and learn the truth of the curse is beautiful. Jem is beautiful. They are all such gorgeous characters with so much to give. I love this book.

I have it at only four stars solely because their is almost no plot in this book. The characters even point out that not much is really done in this book as the characters are sent on meaningless missions without really getting anywhere. I think this was a good call for Clare in order to develop the relationships, but it can get reallllly long feeling at some moments.

Wow was this book a lot better than the last one. Loved all of the character development, especially Sophie, Charlotte, and Henry. Can't wait to read the next one which will be soon! :)

I hate love triangles!

But I adore Charlotte and Henry. If the entire book could be only about them, I’d be thrilled. They are my favorite Shadowhunter couples ever!

For its relative shortness, a lot happened in this book. While Tessa’s character is still a mystery, the backstory is spotlighted for Jesse, Will, Nate and the Lightwoods! I’m hoping the third book will wrap up this trilogy nicely!
