This is a fun comic that is a bit of an intentionally cheesy heist comic, complete with a gang of "urchin" helpers for the sassy master thief Bandette. The layouts are standard pages of flush rectangles, but I love the bright colorful art, and the character that the watercolors impart to the story. I'll likely read more when I'm in the mood for light, bright fare.
P.S. I read the comic in its English translation, and as someone who studied abroad in France, it seemed like, every once in a while, there was a stilted line of translation, that was literally correct, but sounded awkward.

She has the grace of Pavlova, the wit of Oscar Wilde, and the joie de vivre of Grace Kelly in Rear Window. And you don't have to know any of those people to appreciate this Continental spin on a groovy caper movie. With capes!

This comic collection is just up my alley. Great artwork, a fun story, and a fantastic female protagonist. Nothing mind blowing, but it's a feel good comic and I would love to read more! P.S. You must read this in a French accent! It makes all the difference!

If you're in the mood for a sassy heroine and a story that doesn't take itself too seriously, this is the series for you! Everything about this first volume is fun and fast paced- the story, the artwork, the chapters. Bandette is so quirky and I absolutely adore her! The adventure ends on just the right note and sets the stage perfectly for the next installment.

This is really cute, I can't think of any other way to describe it. Bandette is so adorable, her town so French, everyone so charming. It was a lot of fun to read and I will pick up the sequel.

A delightfully carefree French thief, Bandette uses her skills and group of friends to outwit guards & villains, as well as occasionally assist the local grumpy police detective. A good introductory graphic novel for kids, perhaps for ages 10 or 11.
