I went into this hoping for a light and fluffy YA romcom to relax to and while I suppose that it technically speaking is an accurate description of this book, I wasn’t expecting the emotional rollercoaster it took me on. Something about reading about public humiliation and social ostracisation in high school had my heart pounding in my chest. As the main character astutely points out; at that age high school is your entire life. The relationship was amusing and sizzling with witty enemies to lovers banter, this book is tropes done well. It didn’t reinvent the wheel but had unexpected emotional depth and sincerity. I found myself rereading the final chapters to relive the joy of the happy ending.
